Amelia Hesketh

Amelia is a community ecologist who broadly studies the effect of ocean and atmospheric warming on nearshore foundation species and their associated communities in the Salish Sea and beyond. For her NSERC postdoctoral fellowship, she is currently thinking about how rapid ocean warming constrains both kelp distribution, abundance, and health and society’s diverse expectations of kelp as a cornerstone of emerging blue economy and blue food initiatives.
